Innovation of Socialism

In their quest to strive for economic equality (I know they never achieve that, they only pretend so they appear just), they simply have to figure on how to wipe themselves.  From the old Soviet Union to today's Venezuela, these collectivists have yet to be able to produce the necessary amount of toilet paper.  You would think people would readily trash all forms of collectivism as inferior towards raising the standard of living of people based solely on the fact that they cannot even wipe.

Theft is legal, commerce is a crime

Stealing from on American to give food stamps to another is legal, but when the looter attempts to sell the card (engaging in the voluntary trade between individuals) it is a crime.

Murder Part Deux

As a follow on to an earlier post, the only times liberals embrace capitalism is when it comes to murder (and sex).  Liberals remove any impediment to abortion by allowing non-doctors to perform abortions-yet I still need to see an M.D. to get treatment for my strep throat.

When looters get impatient

When looters cannot wait for congress to give them the "right" to steal from their fellow Americans, this is what happens.  Oh, and as far as loving money, nobody rivals those on the left.

Little hope and bad changes for our youth

Certainly, most folks of all ages are suffering from the oppressive policies (like Obamacare) but the youth are again getting short shrift.  One factor not spoken about is that many older folks are taking these part-time jobs because they cannot find full-time work.  Under this administration, the universe of available jobs has shrunk to a 34 year low.  Essentially, Oba Mao has undone what Reagan has achieved.

Yet another Ponzi scheme crafted by looters

I will never call the WWII generation the greatest generation.  Particularly since they adhere to social security the way they do.  It is theft from younger generations much like Obamacare is doubling down on this new generational Ponzi scheme.

A looter with a seared conscience

Liar, liar pants on fire

When Barak Caracalla dismisses claims that he is anti-oil and that oil production has increased under his presidency, realize that production has increased in spite of him rather than because of his efforts.  Over the past 10 years, oil production from federal lands (area BHO has under his control) has dropped 15% (much of the loss over the past 4 years) while private land production has risen 27%.
Just think what our gasoline price would be if the federal gov't followed the private land trend.

It's the entitlements, stupid!

Recently, a friend of mine circulated a petition to stop the development of the F-35 because of the impact to our deficit.  My friend is a collectivist.  While I support the notion of reducing our federal spending and have not investigated the merits of said fighter plane to our current and future theatres of operation, I am quickly grounded to something called proportion when I see information such as the following from the Heritage Foundation.  Even if the F-35 was a boondoggle, it is not as egregious as entitlement spending which represents on American stealing from another.  At least in the case of the F-35, it is spending that goes towards the common defense (something, by the way, our federal government is constitutionally bound whereas confiscation for entitlements oppose the mandate of the fed gov't).

Meet the next Clintons

So Weiner and his so-called wife, Huma, are following the same pattern as BJ Clinton and Hiliary.  You create a sham of a marriage which only serves as a foil to the voters ('see we believe in marriage and fidelity, too') all the while money is funneled to the one currently out of office.  That is why Weiner or Bill can do what they do and their women stand behind them.  The point, however, is that money is to be made no longer by offering products that enhance the lives of others but by finding out what regulations will affect what companies and capitalizing on what is normally called 'insider trading'.  So, because our society fears making more Steve Jobs, we've decided having more Bill or Hiliary Clintons are preferable.

Teneo Holdings, a firm run by Clinton confidante Doug Band..
Abedin’s change in employment status was exposed in a June article in Politico, which reported that Abedin and Weiner reported income of $490,000 in calendar year 2012, $360,000 of which represented a combination of both of their consulting incomes.
Grassley has been pressing the State Department and Abedin to answer a slew of questions over the arrangement ever since.
“It appears that Teneo may have been compensating Ms. Abedin for gathering information from government sources for the purpose of informing investment decisions of her clients - or in other words, political intelligence,”

Happy 'birth of nation' day (formerly Independence Day)

On this day, let us remember the liberties we once enjoyed and the warnings of many of those like
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn or Alexis de Tocqueville .  Here is Alexis prognosis of America while in our infancy.  (Google book Democracy in America, Book 4, Chapter VI):

WHAT SORT OF DESPOTISM DEMOCRATIC NATIONS HAVE TO FEAR I HAD remarked during my stay in the United States that a democratic state of society similar to that of the Americans might offer singular facilities for the establishment of despotism and I perceived upon my return to Europe how much use had already been made by most of our rulers of the notions the sentiments and the wants created by this same social condition for the purpose of extending the circle of their power This led me to think that the nations of Christendom would perhaps eventually undergo some oppression like that which hung over several of the nations of the ancient world A more accurate examination of the subject and five years of further meditation have not diminished my fears but have changed the object of them No sovereign ever lived in former ages so absolute or so powerful as to undertake to administer by his own agency and without the assistance of intermediate powers all the parts of a great empire none ever attempted to subject all his subjects indiscriminately to strict uniformity of regulation and personally to tutor and direct every member of the community The notion of such an undertaking never occurred to the human mind and if any man had conceived it the want of information the imperfection of the administrative system and above all the natural obstacles caused by the inequality of conditions would speedily have checked the execution of so vast a design.
When the Roman Emperors were at the height of their power the different nations of the empire still preserved manners and customs of great diversity although they were subject to the same monarch most of the provinces were separately administered they abounded in powerful and active municipalities and although the whole government of the empire was centered in the hands of the Emperor alone and he always remained in case of need the supreme arbiter in all matters yet the details of social life and private occupations lay for the most part beyond his control The Emperors possessed it is true an immense and unchecked power which allowed them to gratify all their whimsical tastes and to employ for that purpose the whole strength of the state They frequently abused that power arbitrarily to deprive their subjects of property or of life their tyranny was extremely onerous to the few but it did not reach the many it was fixed to some few main objects and neglected the rest it was violent but its range was limited.
It would seem that if despotism were to be established amongst the democratic nations of our days it might assume a different character it would be more extensive and more mild it would degrade men without tormenting them I do not question that in an age of instruction and equality like our own sovereigns might more easily succeed in collecting all political power into their own hands and might interfere more habitually and decidedly with the circle of private interests than any sovereign of antiquity could ever do But this same principle of equality which facilitates despotism tempers its rigor We have seen how the manners of society become more humane and gentle in proportion as men become more equal and alike When no member of the community has much power or much wealth tyranny is as it were without opportunities and a field of action As all fortunes are scanty the passions of men are naturally circumscribed their imagination limited their pleasures simple This universal moderation moderates the sovereign himself and checks within certain limits the inordinate stretch of his desires Independently of these reasons drawn from the nature of the state of society itself I might add many others arising from causes beyond my subject but I shall keep within the limits I have laid down Democratic governments may become violent and even cruel at certain periods of extreme effervescence or of great danger but these crises will be rare and brief When I consider the petty passions of our contemporaries the mildness of their manners the extent of their education the purity of their religion the gentleness of their morality their regular and industrious habits and the restraint which they almost all observe in their vices no less than in their virtues I have no fear that they will meet with tyrants in their rulers but rather with guardians.
I think then that the species of oppression by which democratic nations are menaced is unlike anything which ever before existed in the world our contemporaries will find no prototype of it in their memories I seek in vain for an expression which w accurately convey the whole of the idea I have formed of it the old words despotism and tyranny are inappropriate the thing itself is new and since I cannot name I must attempt to define it I seek to trace the novel features under which despotism may appear in the world The first thing that strikes the observation is an innumerable multitude of men all equal and alike incessantly endeavoring to procure the petty and paltry pleasures with which they glut their lives Each of them living apart is as a stranger to the fate of all the rest his children and his private friends constitute to him the whole of mankind as for the rest of his fellow citizens he is close to them but he sees them not touches them but he feels them not he exists but in himself and for himself alone and if his kindred still to him he may be said at any rate to have lost his country Above this race of men stands an immense and tutelary power which takes upon itself alone to secure their gratifications and to watch over their fate That power absolute minute regular provident and mild It be like the authority of a parent if like that authority object was to prepare men for manhood but it seeks the contrary to keep them in perpetual childhood it well content that the people should rejoice provided think of nothing but rejoicing For their happiness a government willingly labors but it chooses to be the agent and the only arbiter of that happiness it for their security foresees and supplies their necessities facilitates their pleasures manages their principal concerns directs their industry regulates the descent of property and subdivides their inheritances what remains but spare them all the care of thinking and all the trouble of living?
Thus it every day renders the exercise of the free agency of man less useful and less frequent it circumscribes the will within a narrower range and gradually robs a man of all the uses of himself The principle of equality has prepared men for these things it has predisposed men to endure them and oftentimes to look on them as benefits After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules minute and uniform through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered but softened bent and guided men are seldom forced by it to act but they are constantly restrained from acting such a power does not destroy but it prevents existence it does not tyrannize but it compresses enervates extinguishes and stupefies a people till each nation is reduced to be nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals of which the government is the shepherd I have always thought that servitude of the regular quiet and gentle kind which I have just described might be combined more easily than is commonly believed with some of the outward forms of freedom and that it might even establish itself under the wing of the sovereignty of the people.
Our contemporaries are constantly excited by two conflicting passions they want to be led and they wish to remain free as they cannot destroy either the one or the other of these contrary propensities they strive to satisfy them both at once They devise a sole tutelary and all powerful form of government but elected by the people They combine the principle of centralization and that of popular sovereignty this gives them a respite they console themselves for being in tutelage by the reflection that they have chosen their own guardians Every man allows himself to be put in leading strings because he sees that it is not a person or a class of persons but the people at large who hold the end of his chain By this system the people shake off their state of dependence just long enough to select their master and then relapse into it again A great many persons at the present day are quite contented with this sort of compromise between administrative despotism and the sovereignty of the people and they think they have done enough for the protection of individual freedom when they have surrendered it to the power of the nation at large This does not satisfy me the nature of him I am to obey signifies less to me than the fact of extorted obedience I do not however deny that a constitution of this kind appears to me to be infinitely preferable to one which after having concentrated all the powers of government should vest them in the hands of an irresponsible person or body of persons Of all the forms which democratic despotism could assume the latter would assuredly be the worst.
When the sovereign is elective or narrowly watched by a legislature which is really elective and independent the oppression which he exercises over individuals is sometimes greater but it is always less degrading because every man when he is oppressed and disarmed may still imagine that whilst he yields obedience it is to himself he yields it and that it is to one of his own inclinations that all the rest give way In like manner I can understand that when the sovereign represents the nation and is dependent upon the people the rights and the power of which every citizen is deprived not only serve the head of the state but the state itself and that private persons derive some return from the sacrifice of their independence which they have made to the public To create a representation of the people in every centralized country is therefore to diminish the evil which extreme centralization may produce but not to get rid of it.
I admit that by this means room is left for the intervention of individuals in the more important affairs but it is not the less suppressed in the smaller and more private ones It must not be forgotten that it is especially dangerous to enslave men in the minor details of life For my own part I should be inclined to think freedom less necessary in great things than in little ones if it were possible to be secure of the one without possessing the other Subjection in minor affairs breaks out every day and is felt by the whole community indiscriminately It does not drive men to resistance but it crosses them at every turn till they are led to surrender the exercise of their own will Thus their spirit is gradually broken and their character enervated whereas that obedience which is exacted on a few important but rare occasions only exhibits servitude at certain intervals and throws the burden of it upon a small number of men It is in vain to summon a people who have been rendered so dependent on the central power to choose from time to time the representatives of that power this rare and brief exercise of their free choice however important it may be will not prevent them from gradually losing the faculties of thinking feeling and acting for themselves and thus gradually falling below the level of humanity.
I add that they will soon become incapable of exercising great and only privilege which remains to them The nations which have introduced freedom into political constitution at the very time when they augmenting the despotism of their administrative have been led into strange paradoxes To those minor affairs in which good sense is all that wanted the people are held to be unequal to the task when the government of the country is at stake the are invested with immense powers they are alternately made the playthings of their ruler and his masters more than kings and less than men After having exhausted all the different modes of election without finding one to suit their purpose they are still amazed and still bent on seeking further as if the evil they remark did not originate ii the constitution of the country far more than in that of the electoral body.
It is indeed difficult to conceive how men who have entirely given up the habit of self government should succeed in making a proper choice of those by whom they are to be governed and no one will ever believe that a liberal wise and energetic government can spring from the suffrages of a subservient people A constitution which should be republican in its head and ultra monarchical in all its other parts has ever appeared to me to be a short lived monster The vices of rulers and the inaptitude of the people would speedily bring about its ruin and the nation weary of its representatives and of itself would create freer institutions or soon return to stretch itself at the feet of a single master.

Enron v IRS- who's more evil?

Let's compare and contrast:

IRS 'exec' (aka top looters) receives $70M in bonuses; Enron execs only $55M
IRS affects all of us (Ok, well only the producers not the looters in the USA) whereas Enron affected 4000 workers
IRS top looters have to undergo 'tough' questioning at congressional show trials whereas Enron execs do hard time
IRS receives scant attention by the left-wing media whereas they were fit to be tied over Enron
Looters make apologies for IRS (and even encourages strong arm tactics against conservative groups) whereas these same looters were hoping for a old-west style lynching.

I am sure you can go about it...the point has been made.

Liberal jihad

Ever find it curious why the left in the USA seem to cater to Muslims (despite the same-sex prohibitions in the Quran and the lefts religious proclivity with homosexuality).  Well, these two groups are really cousins in how they treat their enemies. In Sura 9 verse 29, the Quran calls for extracting extra taxes from infidels (aka jizyah) while the left punishes conservative groups by utilizing the IRS and EPA (the story below).  Essentially, the treat those who disagree with them as second-class citizens.

Insider Trading by HHS

Forget about P/E ratios or Asset to Debt ratios, there is only one key metric- who do you know in government.  Since more and more of our economy funnels through and is decided by our government, just take a bureaucrat out to lunch or golfing and maybe he/she will slip you some key insider information.

Mass shootings by the IRS

Each and every time a whack job shoots up a school, the left come for the weapons of law-abiding Americans.  Each time, the democrats attempt to jettison or whittle away at our second amendment rights.  Now, we have arguably the most powerful branch of government coming after political dissidents (remember, they don't need a court order to seize assets and close businesses). Along with going after certain heads within the IRS or WH, the GOP should be calling for the elimination of this branch of government bureaucracy.  Does anyone think the GOP is up for this fight?  I certainly don't.

Mass looting

I heard one preacher refuse to denounce gov't programs.  No doubt, this scared soul did not want to lose his 501c(3) status - never mind that he wouldn't he just thought he might.  Notwithstanding the Apostle Paul's prohibition against giving to someone who refuses to work, how does some bureaucrat dole out money with mercy when it does not belong to him/her and was never earned by him/her.  Would it not be better to allow charities to discriminate who is a looter and who has a legitimate need?  These looters averaged over $2K in benefits over about a year period.  That doesn't even include the costs for the bureaucrats to do the job they were supposed to do correctly the first time.

Gibson pulled

Another instance of government exercising pull over speech.  While the IRS targeting tea parties is getting a modicum of attention, this one was the canary in the coal mine that should have awakened Americans of the despotism our government is capable of and undergoing.  Even the laws that Gibson purportedly broke were not even U.S. law.  The saddest part of the story is we let a producer suffer without action.

Tim Cook is a typical cowardly, American business CEO

Yes, they are clever and adept at making money, but leadership?  Not for a second.  Mr. Cook was given a golden opportunity to confront the looters in DC and, instead, decided to placate his masters.  If I were Tim, I would have walked out two props-one showing the running national debt and another how much Apple is paying in taxes.  I would have shown the how much is being stolen from Apple and, ultimately, its customers as any economic literate understands that all corporate taxes are fully passed onto the product.  I would have talked about how Apple complies with the behemoth code written by those in Congress and, for my good measure, am being excoriated for following their insipid code.  I would have then presented what the prices would be for an iPad and iPhone if we were to eliminate these corporate taxes (along with the associated lawyers and lobbyists). And for the Apple Employees (any loyalty to them, Mr. Cook?) the removal of corporate taxes results in more take home pay.   I would have then talked about the prop showing the government spending and demanded these looters account for what is being done with the enormous amount of money Apple is sending to Washington.  Why Americans look up to these 'leaders' is beyond me.  Cowardly.  "Think Different", Tim.  We could have used someone like Hank Rearden during these show trials.

Fat or Slim- Christie is not fit

This man is not fit to protect the interests of a free people.  This is not how free people are to be addressed by their representatives.  And, pork chop, if I didn't want my view occluded from my personal property, what damn business is it of yours?  We could admire how he speaks to tools like Warren Buffet when our freedoms are being assaulted but this is no manner to address free people.

Spare me the U3 BS

The press keeps touting the U3 unemployment rate of 7.5% and claims things are turning around.  Never mind we've had less jobs in the US since Oba Mao (in deference to our Chinese friends who gave him that endearing nickname) took office and many have given up looking for work and are ,therefore, no longer counted as unemployed.  I think the official economic term for those individuals is 'screwed'.  Here are some real numbers to digest.

First, the overall employment participation (civilian, of course, since this is the only sector which creates wealth).  Oba Mao has completely undone the gains created by Reagan:
http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/EMRATIO

Now the situation with our youth.  In 2004, we were ranked 14th and we moved down to 19th in 2009 and now 18th.  What leadership by the man who refuses to sleep to get our economy back online.  Please, get some rest and work on your golf game.

Who is John Galt?

It seems either the Destroyer is among us or the looters are doing enough damage that we don't need a Destroyer recruiting the most productive among us.  This is an excellent analysis of how startups and innovation are being choked.  One of the last points that is of interest is, due to the lack of new startup companies, there will result high profits for big businesses. After which, the looters will disparage capitalism once more (after sabotaging the free market).

If wealth was murder part 2

This is a sequel to my posting of April 22nd.  Again, when it comes to killing babies, they understand that regulations impede an activity.  If only they would exchange how they treat good commerce with how they treat their proclivity for death.

When did you discriminate?

As the Pigford looting continues to be uncovered (see http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/26/us/farm-loan-bias-claims-often-unsupported-cost-us-millions.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 ), ask yourself when did you deny someone their pursuit of happiness?  After all, it is your money and that of your progeny being handed out for non-productivity.  Then ask yourself, why should government be the arbiter of who should get a farm- why should they be allowed such pull and are they more compassionate than the 'robber baron' straw man the looters like to rail against?

We're rubber and you're glue

It seems that whatever insults the left likes to cast our way, it is my appropriate to them.  Much like Nazi (National Socialist Workers Party), we now have "zombie".

We all get pulled by FAA

Actually, insert any government program that doesn't get as much money as they want.  Note: I said want as it is not based upon need or past spending.  Here, the FAA while continuing to receive fees (from tickets) and whose workload has decreased in recent years, choses to magnify the 'cut' beyond the proportion affected.  In other words, when the government does not get the money they want, they seek to hurt all of us in those comparatively few services we require- wealth transfers to looters being preserved.  Think of your local schools with cutting busing or local governments cutting trash pickup or requiring separate payments.  And these are the folks i.e., government, that Harry Reid says should be implicitly trusted.  As long as it isn't a business doing this, its all OK?

If wealth was murder, looters adopt capitalism

Looters do indeed understand capitalism.  They can quickly point out how regulations place an undue burden on business- if the business was killing babies.  If it comes to any other form of venture that actually improves our quality of life, regulations abound.

P.S. If you have not read about the Gosnell trial, you need to acquaint yourself with the face of the left in this country.

Looters have no compassion

When will we see that our socialist overlords have little compassion and are greedier than the worst robber baron?  Check out just how much your property taxes escalated during the housing bust when home values plummeted.

Unworthy no-shows

Here is a list of unworthy no-shows to Lady Thatcher's funeral today.  Both Bush's (father and son) are friends to the looters and the son is nothing more than our current chairman's harbinger.  Thank you, Lady Thatcher, for your courage in the face of the looters (e.g., NUM- National Union of Mineworkers) and commitment to freedom.

Capitalism is not prejudice or misogynistic

I have always looked with skepticism on the claim that men are disproportionately paid over women for their talents.  Claims by feminists always would exclude factors such as risk pay and time away from work for raising children.  If it were true that women (of equal talent) were being paid less, then companies would be hiring women instead of men in order to gain a leg up on their competition.  In the end, you would have more companies with only women employees (until there were no women left to hire and companies then would reluctantly have to hire men to expand capacity).  Capitalism (unlike the policies of the looters) are truly color-blind and gender neutral.

Housing bublle revisited

Here is another book that lays blame properly with gov't (albeit not solely) as the culprit in the recent housing bubble.  For another excellent treatise on this subject, please see Thomas Sowell's book, "Housing Boom and Bust" (yes, I read it).  Moreover, this book lays blame on politics (i.e., government) as being the cause of general instability in our financial sector (of which the housing bust was just another episode).  Keep this in mind when the looters invoke Washington to 'do more' about the greed of our nations bankers.

Goodbye, Baroness

She has and will be sorely missed.  Thank you for your courage and commitment to freedom, Lady Thatcher.  With you and Ronaldus Magnus both gone now, our road into the abyss seems even lonelier.

Fisker Fiasco

This is instructive on a many fronts- a couple of which is the economic illiteracy and insanity (doing same thing over and over and expecting a different result) of Gov. Markell and the need to create a chair in my hall for Mr. Lane.

Looting need not wait for legislatures

Normally, the looting in this country is 'legal'.  Here's one in which it is illegal but our gov't (and national lib media) are looking the other way.

Worse than make work jobs

These jobs are even worse than paying someone to dig ditches.  These bureaucrats exist to harass.  It would have been better to nix the socialist health care, steal the money from the producers, and send the money to these community organizers while they stay at home.  If anyone are 'little Eichmanns' it's these 'navigators'

Pull personified

Is this what the left calls noble?  Is this really better than rich industrialists who actually produce goods and services that enrich our lives?  This is the left's new economy.

Envy is blinding

When people become comforted by the fact that the rich will bear the brunt of any form of government seizure, the reality is:
1.  The truly rich will not get had.
2.  It is the less-wealthy majority that gets the shaft.
3.  Their envy affords cover for the looters.
Mankind has been extorting others for millennia.  It comes in the form of monarchies, feudalism, and various forms of socialism as well as individuals.  When you limit the size of government and their affect on capitalism (which only represents the free exchange of value-enhancing work), you eliminate 3 of the four more effective means of extortion.

Capitalism wins in ND

For five of the last six years, ND had the fastest personal income growth of all states.  It wasn't any gov't stimulus spending, it was plan ol' capitalism.  Here folks are improving not only their lot in life but all the rest of ours by providing oil that the rest of us can use.  They are engaging in trading "their best for our best" and raising everyone's standard of living.  Sure beats stealing from one American to give a paycheck to another.

Loooters bill of rights, article one

If something is to be tossed, the looter believes he/she is entitled.  If someone has a need and another has the means, it belongs to the former.  In other words, the rightful owner does not have the opportunity to do what they wish with their property.  My recommendation is that the looters call their congressperson in order to have their looting legalized.

Looters...looted

Here is a case of one looter, Boyd, stealing from other looters.

Looters shift gov't programs

Demonstrates that while welfare rolls have gone down, the number of people on disability has risen by a greater amount.   See http://apps.npr.org/unit-for-work/  The truly insipid thing is that these folks are not counted among the unemployed (which is why the EMPRATIO of the Fed is a better indicator of economic health, http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/empratio

Pulling for Fallon

Here is the chief means of pull within our country- the tax code.  Instead of treating every American fairly, our government seeks to pick winners among those who curry their favor.  Chief among which is this troll of a man, Fallon.

Berezovsky- when pull has run out

Here is the downside of being in the aristocracy of pull.  Unlike real wealth garnered by two people exchanging "their best of the other's best", this fake wealth can dry up very quickly.  Berezovsky had his "pull" card revoked.

Leaders of Looters

That Mr. Biden is a pig is a given. That is not the point of my post.  Rather, it is the immunity afforded to Joe by his voters.  His (and his boss') excesses matter little to his voters as long as they promise these 99% looters a few crumbs from the table in the form of wealth transfer (i.e., stealing from one American to give to another).  The fact that the press call this elitist pig "Lunchbox Joe" is a post for another day.

Turn on your lights

Rather than celebrating mankind's complete subjugation to our environment, turn on your lights in order to demonstrate our progress and the subsequent freedom accorded to mankind by electric power.  The fact that North Korea is held up is an example tells exactly where the anti-progress of the left/statist/collectivist wishes to take us.
